Decide VAT before the first invoice
The law has a threshold. This page does not copy it. The VAT annex on the registration form is optional for a reason.

This is a StartCG summary, not legal, tax, or investment advice. Confirm fees, forms and deadlines on the official page before you act.
The choice is real
Some new companies must register for VAT because of turnover. Others may apply earlier. The business portal treats the VAT annex as optional. Tick it only when you mean it.
Do not copy a number from a blog
The threshold sits in tax legislation and can change. A figure repeated here would go stale. Ask an accountant to show you the current rule, in a note you can keep, before the first invoice to a client who expects VAT or to a client abroad.
After you register
VAT registration brings returns. Those are filed with the Tax Administration through IRMS, on the calendar the administration publishes. StartCG does not send reminders and does not guess a date.
